Who Were Your Ancestors?
Every big family gathering your family sits at the long big table eating great food and talking about life (you love these times!) One person out of the bunch, usually the elders, begin talking about the past… ‘remember such and such and when they came from France, Algeria, Ireland (you get the gist!)’ They begin telling stories about stories they heard when they were young about family they never met (ancestors!) Then another elder chimes in and wants to correct a few things mentioned and well, you’re left wondering ‘what are the actual facts? where do my roots come from? who are these family members that reside in Heaven now? ‘ You find yourself wanting to learn a thing or two about your ancestors, it’ll be fun to investigate how you came about in this timeline, and into the world.
Below is a fun quiz, whether it’s true, well that’s a different story… but the answer you get about YOU as a person may be spot on… I felt like my answer spoke truth about my personality (I got traveling Pilgrims of the Mayflower.) How about you? (share in the comments below!)
I encourage you all to learn as much as you can about your Ancestors, it’s interesting!
I can only go back as far as my great grandparents (the details of their lives were remarkable and entertaining to hear!) Some day I’ll dig in a little further to find out more about the other ancestors, including their parents… But what I know now is that my Ancestors where from France of course, that’s my birthplace, but also Algeria… I was told during family stories I have roots from Czech, Sweden, Spain, and The United Kingdom too!) I can’t wait to learn more, I’ll have to turn to a few resources available
- MyHeritage.com … click here for more information and to get started!
- Ancestry.com… click here for more information and to get started!
- Geneology.com… click here for more information and to get started!
…And NO, I’m not getting paid to promote these websites! I just find this fascinating and urge others to find out more about ‘family’ (one of the most important parts of a person’s life!) You never know, you might find out you have more family members out there in the world and you can connect with them and start to form a bond with them. (how great would that be? it sure would make for a great story!)
Enjoy life’s journey, where ever it may lead you!
