Tricks For The Home!
Sometimes our little nuisances of our home don’t seem that big of a deal, but then you bump into it the next day, then the next day, and well… EVERYDAY! These reoccurring pet peeves can cause your heart to beat at the speed of light (all time record), they can cause an egg to cook on top of your head (just like the cartoons you’ve seen as a youngster sitting too close to the TV). Well, if you’d like help with a few of the peeves that make you think you have an anger problem then please continue on…
The Dang Bars of Soap!
A certain somebody in your home (maybe you? maybe your spouse?) would rather have bar soap in the bathroom to cleanse those dirty hands… they’re cute little bars of handmade soap that take your imagination to a spa like retreat… that is until the dish holding them pools up and make the cute soap into more of a slimy mess… What can you do?
Well, get that pretty looking soap dish washed up, go to the garden shop and purchase a handful of the potting rocks (make sure they’re flat rocks, you know ones that would make perfect skipping rocks if you were to chuck them into the water using your cool looking sidearm throw). OR if you have fancy rocks you’d prefer to use, please do so! This will not only prevent your soap from sitting in a puddle of grossness, it will also look more spa like.
The Squeaky Old Door!
It’s as if you live in your very own haunted house with those beautiful old doors squeaking with the slightest touch. Even the wind blows just enough to scare the pants off you as you think ‘oh, no! someone is in the house.’ How do you stop this horrible sound?
Nothing beats the WD40 can! Spray a little bit on the hinges wipe the magical liquid in the grooves and in an instant you’ve got silence with every whoosh of opening and closing the door. I just did this the very same day as I’m writing this and ahhhh, what a relief! (no more bad feng shui for me!… yes, I read that squeaky doors are bad feng shui!)
Stop The Plant Soil From draining out of the Bottom Of The Pot (that was a mouth-full!)
How lovely you have a beautiful potted plant that livens up the place. The bright pedals add pop and makes the house feel like a home. Then you water it and what do you see? the soil slipping out of the hole in the bottom of the pot… it’s important to have that hole so the roots of the plant can drink, but that dang soil we want that to stay in the pot. hmmm, there must be a solution…
Grab a coffee filter place it into the bottom of the pot, then add the soil and plant. Awesome! The hole will still function as should and your soil will stay where it should… case closed!
White Fabrics Not Looking So White Anymore
So you love your white tees, towels, bedding, etc… but as they get used often the have a tint of yellowness, maybe a tint of tan, or you spilled something reddish, what have you. You know bleach works pretty well, BUT it can be hard on fabric and you’d like an alternative…
The answer is Lemons! say what Eloise?! Yes, you heard me right ladies and gentlemen… LEMONS! Here’s what you do to brighten those whites. Add 1/4 to 1/2 of lemon juice to the wash cycle. BOOM, like magic!
Prevent Your Favorite Books From Becoming Old Stinky Books
You have your favorite books that you’ll never get rid of, they’re in your library for good! But you’re afraid that over the years they’ll have a musty Stank to them. Then how will you read those favorite stinky books of yours? How do I prevent this Eloise? you ask…
Grad a fabric-softener sheet or two and place them in-between the pages. Ohh! and get the lavender scent to enhance your mood, so you’ll be relaxed and ready to read when you crack open one of those amazing page turning books.
Well, I think I’ve shared enough for today! I hope this helps some of you so you don’t become a loose cannon out in the world. I have past posts similar to this one, so feel free to read them and find out more clever ways to being awesome. I’ll share the links below.
Take care readers!
