The Holidays are here! Shopping, decorating, and coming up with clever ideas starts now. I have taken the liberty to try to make life a little easier and fun by guiding you to quick and less stressful time as you prepare for Christmas Eve and Day.
Top Online Places To Do All Your Christmas Shopping
If you can, try to do most of your shopping online NOW! that way you’ll get the gifts within a week and have extra time to wrap right away and hide them. Shopping online not only relieves you from busy stores, but you can usually get better deals online. Give it a try, I have taken the guess-work out of where to find the best gifts… the places I found to be the best ought to be enough to get what you need (or at least the bulk of your shopping done).
The best website I came across for top kid toys is Amazon. The set up is very easy to follow with great categories that make shopping convenient and quick. A few of the categories include ‘Mom picks‘ ‘Kid picks‘ ‘Stem‘ ‘Family night‘ ‘Active Play‘ just to name a few… You can do all your shopping online from amazon if you’re a member, if you’re not a member you can either sign up or write a list from their suggestions and find the items else where. amazon.com/gp/holidaytoylist
I know this is not a website to buy things, but if you love to make gifts and are having trouble coming up with ideas, you can visit pinterest.com Becoming a member will give you full access to many ideas ( such as crocheting, knitting, crafting, card making, artwork, etc…). The sign up is easy, quick, and free. Most ideas given on Pinterest have step by step instructions to help you make whatever you choose.
Etsy.com is a great place to find one of a kind gifts. It’s a place where people make high quality items to sell to others (like their own personal online store). The home page layout is very easy to read and use, to make shopping a breeze. The website has even made a Holiday Gift Guide category to help you out. Become a member (it’s free!) and shop to your heart’s content, visit etsy.com
Fun Ideas To Make This Holiday Season
Brunch is usually a big hit Christmas morning, if pancakes are included, find cookie cutter shapes (that can get hot on a pan without melting) and pour the pancake mix inside to create fun shaped pancakes. If you make Christmas tree shaped pancakes, you can use fruit to decorate them! This is a simple idea that the family will love, and it may even get your little ones to eat more because they will be having fun while eating.
Bake Christmas cookies with the kids. Get the cookie sheets out, cookie cutter shapes, frosting, sprinkles, go all out! The kids will have a great time decorating and eating a few of their cookies. While you’re at it make a Ginger Bread House altogether too! Remember tis the season to give, so you can have the kids come with you to hand a couple of bags of cookies to the neighbors.
When it comes to decorating, why not make a day or two of crafting with the kids. Let’s face it, kids LOVE to decorate for the holidays, keep them busy by making ornaments, wreaths, DIY snow globes, paper snow flakes, and homemade holiday cards for the family. You can find all sorts of great ideas online from using any search engine (yahoo, Google, or go to Pinterest – as mentioned above).
Put your family Christmas tree up together. Let the kids hang their ornaments they made on the tree… it will please them to see their hard work on display! Decorate throughout the living room (where the family spends most of their time), put more tasteful decor around to add a magical atmosphere. After decorating the inside of your home, let us not forget the outside!
Weather permitting, make a holiday snowman in your front yard… it’s doing things like that, as a family, that make the best memories! And whatever you do, don’t forget to hang Christmas lights outside! There’s something about Christmas lights that make the holidays super special, and well, they’re just beautiful to look at!
Get in the spirit, be happy, and have fun with your family and friends!
Happy Holidays Everyone!
